Marianne Lowenthal founded Granadier Co., a Los Angeles based developer of mixed use and urban infill properties in 2023. In her thirty-five year career developing properties in Southern California and Washington DC area. Ms. Lowenthal is known for her creative and collaborative work developing design oriented projects that focus on the unique characteristics of the surrounding communities. Her projects create vibrant hubs for their communities and have fostered a rebirth of many areas.
Ms. Lowenthal headed the national development team at Combined Properties from 2005 through 2022. With a team of 15 people, she developed over $1billion of cutting edge mixed use projects that include multi-family, office, retail and hotels in highly valued infill markets. Ms. Lowenthal has been heavily involved in all aspects of project development from acquisition and entitlements to design, construction, financing and operations. Ms. Lowenthal works very closely with government agencies and staff to complete complex entitlements and development agreements.
From 2000 until 2005, Ms. Lowenthal managed the development team at The Bond Companies where she completed the design and development of Sunset & Vine, a $250M mixed use project in Hollywood, CA. A joint venture with the Canyon Johnson Fund, the project was known as a catalyst in the resurgence of Hollywood.
Prior to her work with The Bond Companies, Ms. Lowenthal had a 14 year career with The Prudential Realty Group where she was an integral part of their development team and managed their Western Region portfolio of 6M square feet of office and mixed use projects totaling $1.5B. She managed large joint venture properties including Embarcadero Center in San Francisco, the Century Plaza Towers in Century City, and One and Two Town Center in Costa Mesa. JV partners included, Rockefeller, JMB, Citibank and CJ Segerstrom.
Ms. Lowenthal is on the Board of Directors of Macerich, a public REIT, the Los Angeles Tourism and Convention Board, and the UCLA Anderson Graduate School of Management Ziman Center Board for Real Estate. She is a graduate of UCLA where she earned a BA in Political Science and an MBA, in finance and real estate. Ms. Lowenthal is a licensed real estate broker in the state of California, license #00838356.
